MY TOP 5

Ryan Joseph Giggs
D.O.B: 29th November 1973
Nationality: GB/ Wales
City of Birth: Cardiff, Wales
Weight: 68Kg/10st 10lb
Height: 180cm/5ft 11in
Position: Midfield/winger
Debut date: 02 March 1991
The player that caught my eyes when i just started following united back in 1992-93.
I saw him doing his dribble past two or three players against Arsenal if im not mistaken and i asked dad,
who is he to which dad told me he is Giggs. Never knew his full name until i heard the commentator one day called him Ryan Giggs.
Eversince then, i will always look out for him and look forward to see him in every matches. What do i know, I only realized lately
that ive been doing that for 15 years or so now!
I fear for the day he would called it quits. Being soooo used to watching him every week for a long time,
his sudden disappearance will be a HUGE blow to me. I dont even have to imagine that to know how i would feel, i can actually feel it now everytime when i talk about it.
Every new season, as much as i am looking forward to a new adventure, a little part of me will have the thought will this be his last season? I know players come and go, even
Sir Alex Ferguson will leave us one day too (that will be a bigger heartbreak thou) but its just hard to take.
Witnessing his development, from being a magnificent winger to a stand in central midfielder as age catches up. 11 Premiership Medals, 2 European Cups and many many more
accolades, how can anyone not make him an idol? And all these he achieved while playing for the only one club! And no, no red card as well! I dont care if people called me bias but he dont deserved any criticism
no matter how bad he played because as much as i can recall, he did well many more times than he played badly these past years, so that evens it out.

Paul Aaron Scholes
D.O.B: 16 November 1974
Place of Birth: Salford, England
Weight: 11st 9lbs
Height: 5'7
Position: Midfield
Debut date:21 Sep 1994
The second runner-up. If Im honest, i love him as much as Giggsy and despite his tackles, i love everything about him.
Not only is he a great player on the pitch, in fact no doubt one of the best midfielder England ever produce, and he topped it off with a great character as well.
Perhaps not many journalist would agree with that but personally i think, thats how footballers should be. You do your talking on the pitch not anywhere off it, leave that
to the manager or even the coach. Whats the use of all these interview anyway when the question that often been asked is How do you feel? What do you think? etc, etc, whoever is going to believe
that whatever the players said is genuinely what they think?
I didnt talk much about Scholes but thats only because he didnt talk much as well and i respect him for that because all along I have the thinking that he doesnt like being in the limelight which probably is true.
But that doesnt mean he didnt hold a big part in my life supporting united. The best midfielder that ive seen playing for united and still do too. Like Giggsy, i hate to think about the day he decided to hang up his boots. A sure thing a player like him is very hard to replace, his vision, his passes, his crossing and most of all his creativity is second to none and that doesnt include his loyalty yet. If there is anyone that fits the word underated perfectly,
it would be him, Paul Scholes. How the hell does he not win any personal award just yet? This is just not fair.

Nemanja Vidic
D.O.B: 21 Oct 1981
Place of Birth: Uzice, Serbia
Weight: 13st 0lbs
Height: 6'2
Position: Defence
Debut date: 25 Jan 2006
He rocks! Everytime i think of Vidic, its kind of funny and it remind me never to doubt Sir Alex & his gang ability to spot talent. Well its always
easier to spot talent but difficult to groom that talent but with Vidic, i dont think the gaffer had a lot of problem. Within his stay in Manchester,
he had already surpassed Rio in being the best CD in the premiership and together they make a perfect item. Not only he is rock solid at the back but he can
score goals too. A complete package of what we really need and its not easy not to like him. Another priceless asset we have that i hope we dont let go.

Wayne Mark Rooney
D.O.B:24 Oct 1985
Place of Birth:Croxteth, Liverpool
Weight:12st 5lbs
Height:5'10
Position:Forward
Debut date:28 Sep 2004
Hah! So where do i start??
25/08/2005 - Manchester United confirm they have made an offer to Everton for striker Wayne Rooney.
Pissed off! No way Jose i want a him in the team just no! I dont like the fact that he is a scouser, and his
famous tagline "Once a Blue, always a blue" always make me think that he wouldnt want to be with us.
Guess what?? Im sooooo damn wrong of course. And the irony, he happens to be if not the most, one of the dedicated
players we have in the team. People always talk of his temper and tantrums but to me thats what make him special. Just
as long as it didnt affect us in anyway of course.
Also i like how he go about doing his thing without really that much
HU-HA and playing for Manchester United didnt make him big headed in anyway at all. His passion for football and for united
can be seen even on the pitch. I really have very high hopes on him and in him i was actually hoping to see another Ryan or Scholes
like players, someone who will end his united career here with us but as much faith i have, ive learned not many of today's player
can do that so we'll see.

John O'Shea
D.O.B:30 Apr 1981
City of Birth:Waterford, Ireland
Weight:11st 11lbs
Height:6'3
Position:All Over
Debut date:13 Oct 1999
He might not be the best player on the field but no doubt his existence is one that i will appreciate for a long time. People talk about Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and
and Gary Neville about loyalty and its always easier to brush player like Sheasy but for me, his willingness and his sacrifice into becoming a versatile player for us is enough
to see how much loyalty he have for the club.To add to that the amount of criticism he gets is beyond words and its a shame really seeing how we love to have a loyal player in the club but
yet when we see one we didnt tend to acknowledge it. Regardless how he perform, he will always be in that soft spot in my heart. It is definitely not easy to perform consistently well for all matches
when your playing in different position each game but atleast he tried.
Nudge me!

Asian Tour - THE TRIP Match ONE.
I went up town to Kuala Lumpur just to fulfill my dream of watching United live. Actually its just half of what i dream of as the other half has always been wanting to watch them at Old Trafford. Still i cant just let the opportunity go now that they have come close enough to me. So here, i tried to summarize everything as simple as i can.
Day:17th July 2009
Time: 10.30pm
We boarded the coach from Malay Village, and all the way to JB before we change to another coach. Journey took us almost 4hrs plus before we reach Putrajaya for morning prayer. We reached the city of KL around 10 am in the morning and only get the keys to our room at 1pm where we were given exactly two hours to shower and get changed before making our way to Stadium Bukit Jalil for the match to avoid traffic jam.
Oh i also have to mention that it was the only time i ever felt so close with death. It was around 3-4 am in the morning when most of us were dozing off when the coach we are in make a sudden brake and swerved to one side that i can actually felt the bus was moving with just two tyres! It was made known to me that as the road is a one way route, there is this pick up coming from the opposite direction exactly towards us right in the lane we are at. Shocking as it is but thank god our driver is alert enough to avoid an unwanted collision!
Day:17th July 2009
Time: 3.00pm
Match: 5.45pm
Reached Bukit Jalil Stadium and boy we do have to walk quite a distance from where our coach stop us which according to my estimation, about 2.5 km or so! I never been so excited before what more with everyone wearing different type of man utd jersey with different players name at the back of their shirt, it feels so good to be around the right crowd for once and i just cant stop smiling. Every little thing we did especially in difficult moment, my auntie were like asking me if this is all worth it to which I told her DAMN YEAH! How can it not be, its Manchester United we are talking about here so everything is absolutely worth it! She doesnt have a clue how long have i waited for this. Nearly all my life.
Lining up to enter the stadium make me impatient, what more when i hear the crowd who were already inside making loud noises as if as they are cheering for something interesting they saw. In my mind, there couldnt be anything else that can be more interesting than the players so that should be it. I tried to squeeze my way in, yeah a bit selfish but hey that works! Finally im in!
Seeing as its my first time to Bukit Jalil Stadium, im kind of impressed at how huge it is. A stadium that can accomodate 100,000 people, even more than Old Trafford that have a capacity of just 80,000. I managed to look at the pitch as i came in hoping to see the players warming up or something but to my disappointment, there arent any yet. So what was the noises for? It didnt take me long enough to know cause right infront of me, there is this guy wearing an arsenal shirt with fabregas at the back and almost everyone started to jeer at him and that happens each time we saw anyone with any rival shirt on. I however cant help thinking, why the hell do these people even bother to come and watch united? Well maybe they too cant resists the same kind of opportunity as i am as it will be too good to miss.
Around 4.30pm, the malaysian players came out from the dug out to the applause of everyone, me included. Well after all, im in their country so out of courtesy, a round of applause will not hurt. All along in my mind, i was silently telling them, yeah you dont know what you are going to get, confident enough that ive make a bet with my uncle that it will be a goal galore for united just like the last time they play each other.
Not long after, Ben foster came running out and the crowd went mental! From where i sat, Ben somehow look like Edwin to me lol and i thought its Edwin never mind if their hair colour is not the same. Only until i look thru my camera lens do i notice that was actually Foster. Later Edwin follow suit and the stupid me thought it was TK! Again thanks to my lenses and right when i zoomed at him, he waived his hand to my direction!! Haha like he know i was zooming on him and that really make me soooo happy even if its just a coincidence!
It take sometimes before the rest of the lads came out. I cant keep my eyes from the dug out so i managed to find them organizing themselves before they all came out together. Guess who caught my eyes the first time? Haha..yeah Giggsy is in the front row and i was like shouting Giggsy!! Giggsy like mad! Seriously i forgot how to behave and im just hyper active that i dont care if anyone had their eyes on me. Tears of joy later rolled down my cheek and i didnt even realise until my auntie ask me if im mad! To cover it up i just told her its my sweat hoping that she would take that in and thankfully she didnt pursue the matter any futher, even if she does, not like i have the time to talk to her at that moment cause i cant take my eyes off the players.
Apart from Giggsy, i tried to look out for Michael Owen. Oh well after all he is the new kid on the block so im kind of trying hard to give him the support. All along i was waiting for some kind of miracle that the players will make any kind of communication or anything with the fans but it doesnt look like it will happen. What do i know, who else but the cheeky Patrice Evra purposely shoot the ball towards the crowd and to his suprise no matter how hard he pleaded, the fan who gets the ball just didnt want to give it back lol..It was funny to see Evra reaction and Anderson a bit far off laughing at him. And nope just incase you are wondering, Evra never get the ball back lol. The next time the ball went the same direction only this time it didnt get to reach the fans, Evra acted like he is still sore over the first incident that he asked Anderson to pick the ball instead, to which anderson shake his head saying no. He doesnt have a choice but to pick it up himself to the applause and cheers of the fans and he finally gave in and waived at us.
On another side, we have Rooney practicing his cross. I need to mention this, seeing it upfront, i wonder why the hell is he not our corner kick taker! No matter what the distance is, Rooney met his target and on the mark too! And this applies to all his cross during that warm up! Perhaps he had enough of the crossing, he went straight to goal where Nani, Anderson, Scholes, Tosic and Macheda were practicing the penalty kick. Pushing Ben aside ( at this moment, Rooney Joga Bonito ad came to mind) and there he was trying to be a keeper. Only Nani stays with him to take the penalty kick cause the rest has started to head back to the dressing room. He saved it the first time round but the second time, he got his hand on it, dont know what happen make a swirl and lose the ball straight into goal. Nani celebrated and Rooney cant help himself but to laugh at what just happened. And so like the rest, they too headed back to the dressing room to prepare for the match later. ( Match review in a different post)
After the match, the players go on to pick up their cup and walk the famous walk around the stadium to greet the fans. Again, Evra stopped infront of the sections of fans whom he had the fun with earlier and throw them his shirt! And i was DEAD JEALOUS! I cant remember well if Anderson did so too but i remember he was with Evra at that particular time. The rest of the players just look at them both and laugh. I was disappointed not to find Giggsy part of the walk as he and Gary Neville along with the trainer was busy running across the field from one end to the other like they were having a race to which i dont know what they were exactly doing.
Overall, i had fun. Even thou its nothing up close with the players, but its always a nice thing to know that they are willing to respond to the fans doesnt matter where we came from. All along the walk back to the coach, never mind if we have to walk another distance, climb the hill and lots of stairs...i just cant wipe out that smile from my face. Again my aunt asked the golden question, so this is all still worthy...and as Im already catching my breath, i just managed to give her that smile to which she understand and at that particular time, not knowing that im about to watch United Live for the second time!
