I am never proud to be an armchair fan but im proud enough to call Manchester United my own.

The Senorita:

A simple Singapore based Man United fan, and who say it as it is.
United revolve all around me and happens to be part of my everyday life indirectly.
For those who happens to ask what this blog is for, its as simple as you can get. Its going to be where im gonna pen my thoughts, views, prematch and postmatch talk, rants and everything that has got to do with the great club.
I need to make it clear that whatever you think of my views no matter how bias & unbias they are, its not going to bother me much. As a football fan generally that is, I will normally not be bias but being a united fan first, its not my fault if i accidentally do especially when it involved the great living legend Ryan Giggs! One piece of advice, DEAL WITH IT!

Contact me: tubby_yatt53@yahoo.com

The Name:
We are UNITED, MAN UNITED, MAN UTD, MANCHESTER UNITED, RED DEVILS.
Pls refrain from referring to the club as Man U cause it is a term that rivals fans used to mock us with in regards of the ' Munich disaster as well as making fun of the death of Duncan Edwards.
How?
By singing songs such as:
Man U Man U went on a plane Man U Man U never came back again...
And:
Man U Never Intended Coming Home.
Also what was first heard being sung by the West Brom fans:
Duncan Edwards is manure, rotting in his grave,
man you are manure-rotting in your grave,

If we dont use the phrase Man C, Leeds U, Aston V, etc etc,
So why is there a need for us to be referring to the club as Man U?
Like the song goes Theres Only One United, people will know who you support without having to use the Man U term.

MY TOP 5

Ryan Joseph Giggs
D.O.B: 29th November 1973
Nationality: GB/ Wales
City of Birth: Cardiff, Wales
Weight: 68Kg/10st 10lb
Height: 180cm/5ft 11in
Position: Midfield/winger
Debut date: 02 March 1991

The player that caught my eyes when i just started following united back in 1992-93. I saw him doing his dribble past two or three players against Arsenal if im not mistaken and i asked dad, who is he to which dad told me he is Giggs. Never knew his full name until i heard the commentator one day called him Ryan Giggs. Eversince then, i will always look out for him and look forward to see him in every matches. What do i know, I only realized lately that ive been doing that for 15 years or so now!

I fear for the day he would called it quits. Being soooo used to watching him every week for a long time, his sudden disappearance will be a HUGE blow to me. I dont even have to imagine that to know how i would feel, i can actually feel it now everytime when i talk about it. Every new season, as much as i am looking forward to a new adventure, a little part of me will have the thought will this be his last season? I know players come and go, even Sir Alex Ferguson will leave us one day too (that will be a bigger heartbreak thou) but its just hard to take.

Witnessing his development, from being a magnificent winger to a stand in central midfielder as age catches up. 11 Premiership Medals, 2 European Cups and many many more accolades, how can anyone not make him an idol? And all these he achieved while playing for the only one club! And no, no red card as well! I dont care if people called me bias but he dont deserved any criticism no matter how bad he played because as much as i can recall, he did well many more times than he played badly these past years, so that evens it out.

Paul Aaron Scholes
D.O.B: 16 November 1974
Place of Birth: Salford, England
Weight: 11st 9lbs
Height: 5'7
Position: Midfield
Debut date:21 Sep 1994

The second runner-up. If Im honest, i love him as much as Giggsy and despite his tackles, i love everything about him. Not only is he a great player on the pitch, in fact no doubt one of the best midfielder England ever produce, and he topped it off with a great character as well. Perhaps not many journalist would agree with that but personally i think, thats how footballers should be. You do your talking on the pitch not anywhere off it, leave that to the manager or even the coach. Whats the use of all these interview anyway when the question that often been asked is How do you feel? What do you think? etc, etc, whoever is going to believe that whatever the players said is genuinely what they think?

I didnt talk much about Scholes but thats only because he didnt talk much as well and i respect him for that because all along I have the thinking that he doesnt like being in the limelight which probably is true. But that doesnt mean he didnt hold a big part in my life supporting united. The best midfielder that ive seen playing for united and still do too. Like Giggsy, i hate to think about the day he decided to hang up his boots. A sure thing a player like him is very hard to replace, his vision, his passes, his crossing and most of all his creativity is second to none and that doesnt include his loyalty yet. If there is anyone that fits the word underated perfectly, it would be him, Paul Scholes. How the hell does he not win any personal award just yet? This is just not fair.

Nemanja Vidic
D.O.B: 21 Oct 1981
Place of Birth: Uzice, Serbia
Weight: 13st 0lbs
Height: 6'2
Position: Defence
Debut date: 25 Jan 2006

He rocks! Everytime i think of Vidic, its kind of funny and it remind me never to doubt Sir Alex & his gang ability to spot talent. Well its always easier to spot talent but difficult to groom that talent but with Vidic, i dont think the gaffer had a lot of problem. Within his stay in Manchester, he had already surpassed Rio in being the best CD in the premiership and together they make a perfect item. Not only he is rock solid at the back but he can score goals too. A complete package of what we really need and its not easy not to like him. Another priceless asset we have that i hope we dont let go.

Wayne Mark Rooney
D.O.B:24 Oct 1985
Place of Birth:Croxteth, Liverpool
Weight:12st 5lbs
Height:5'10
Position:Forward
Debut date:28 Sep 2004

Hah! So where do i start?? 25/08/2005 - Manchester United confirm they have made an offer to Everton for striker Wayne Rooney. Pissed off! No way Jose i want a him in the team just no! I dont like the fact that he is a scouser, and his famous tagline "Once a Blue, always a blue" always make me think that he wouldnt want to be with us.

Guess what?? Im sooooo damn wrong of course. And the irony, he happens to be if not the most, one of the dedicated players we have in the team. People always talk of his temper and tantrums but to me thats what make him special. Just as long as it didnt affect us in anyway of course.

Also i like how he go about doing his thing without really that much HU-HA and playing for Manchester United didnt make him big headed in anyway at all. His passion for football and for united can be seen even on the pitch. I really have very high hopes on him and in him i was actually hoping to see another Ryan or Scholes like players, someone who will end his united career here with us but as much faith i have, ive learned not many of today's player can do that so we'll see.

John O'Shea
D.O.B:30 Apr 1981
City of Birth:Waterford, Ireland
Weight:11st 11lbs
Height:6'3
Position:All Over
Debut date:13 Oct 1999

He might not be the best player on the field but no doubt his existence is one that i will appreciate for a long time. People talk about Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and and Gary Neville about loyalty and its always easier to brush player like Sheasy but for me, his willingness and his sacrifice into becoming a versatile player for us is enough to see how much loyalty he have for the club.To add to that the amount of criticism he gets is beyond words and its a shame really seeing how we love to have a loyal player in the club but yet when we see one we didnt tend to acknowledge it. Regardless how he perform, he will always be in that soft spot in my heart. It is definitely not easy to perform consistently well for all matches when your playing in different position each game but atleast he tried.

Nudge me!

THE FA COMMUNITY SHIELD 2o1o.
Man Utd VS Chelsea
Venue: Wembley
Scorer: Man Utd : Valencia (41), Chicharito (76), Berbatov (90+2).
Chelsea: Kalou (83).
Line up: VDS, Oshea, Vidic, Evans, Fabio, Valencia, Carrick, Scholes, Park,
Owen, Rooney.
Subs: Chicharito (sub Rooney 45), Berbatov (sub Owen 45), Nani (sub Park 45),
Smalling ( sub Fabio 70), Giggs (sub Scholes 80), Fletcher (sub Carrick 80).

All I can say is all these waiting is well worthy with the kind of performance united displayed. Many positives to be taken from the opening ceremony for the new season. Granted, Chelsea look far from where they left but some of our movement and the football we play shown a huge sign of relieved.

Apart from the sloppy defence, which thankfully Chelsea defence was no better, Im quite happy with our overall performance. Most players look well ready for the new season and that is what matter most. Also its nice to see sir alex giving the time to as many players as he can cause apart from Kuszchak, the rest of the subs had some time on the pitch.

Normally, when united played as well as this, its kind of hard to pick an MOTM but this time round, its pretty obvious who the winner is. Paul Scholes was sooo awesome! He generate the midfield so comfortably and didnt put a foot wrong apart from that one tackle that almost resulted to him getting carded thou. Well whats new with him and his tackle eh? lol..

Berbatov look lively as well. I love that goal from him plus the built up to that goal which to me was pure genius. For the first time ever since he joined us, I saw him being properly comfortable playing and Im not sure if playing alongside the new boy Chicharito is the caused of it. It may be only one game and too early to judge but I do feel both of them compliment each other better than Berba & Rooney playing together. But then again, that could just be my assumption and everything is so new yet with Chicharito. For all I might not know, he could indeed play well along with Rooney and Owen too.

Then we have Rooney. No words could describe how happy I am to see the same Wayne Rooney before we send him off to the World Cup. The hunger, the drive....nothing missing much compared to the Wayne Rooney in the World Cup who to me look more clueless. Thank god for that. Atleast, he managed to put the disappointment aside or most probably that is what drove him hungry for more.

I was surprised to see Fabio starting but think he did pretty well. Obviously he is a little bit still raw but there is always a start to everything and hopefully like his twin, he will be able to learn from this.

All in all, the win served as a huge boost to the players and everyone at the club. Of course the premiership run will be more difficult than this but atleast we know the players are ready for the challenge. Quoting a friend on facebook...think about it, Smalling & Chicharito, in their short time playing for us has won more trophy than Man City in 34 years! How cool was that???! LOL!!

On your mark, get set.......GO!!!!!!!

Hell yeah, im sooo ready for the new season. Been waiting for it for so long since the last season ended and it feels like forever even with the World Cup around.

Just a little recap of what has been happening during the season end. Congrats to Spain for winning the world cup. Cant say they dont deserved but overall, i think this year world cup was a huge letdown. The major good thing that I've noticed from the world cup is the existence of Javier Hernandez or Chicharito as united latest signing. Just like any other united signing, he got me all excited what more with his performance at the world cup. Being the fastest player in the tournament itself said something of his capabilities and I really am hoping he is not overly hyped.

United pre season tour has just ended and Im all glad we had a good one despite losing one of the matches. Shame I miss all the game due to the weird timing and no live telecast here but had managed to catch the replay of these matches thankfully. People were talking about Sir Alex not buying big but personally, watching our youngsters in action for the pre season, I actually rather stick with them then to buy unneccessarily. I feel its time for us to really called up players like Gibson, Rafael, Cleverly, Obertan, Macheda and now we have Hernandez too. Funny how the same people used to keep asking if the class of 92 could be repeated but at the same time, demand the gaffer to keep buying top players instead of just sticking with what we have. Apart from one or two probably, every top players started off from below and all they needed is more chances.

Its good too to see Michael Owen back scoring. Also, Vidic finally put a stop to all these rumours of him leaving by signing a new deal with us. Thank god Vidic! Don t quite care whatever reason to him staying, money or whatever just as long as he stays. Not a good time to let him leave me think especially with Rio questionable fitness level. Hey Ho, we have Evans & Smalling, along with Oshea, Wes and blah, blah, blah...some people said, but really....them over vidic, thanks but no thanks unless we are left with no option of course. If I have vidic for selection, I 'll pick him over anyone else everytime without doubt so I really welcomed the news of him staying.

Anyway, life without watching united is hell. Thank god the charity shield is this weekend and I am soooo looking forward to it. Playing against Chelsea is always a joy to watch what more at Wembley. Just hope that the pitch will be much better by then and not many players got injured because of it as reportedly claimed by Mikey Owen. Somehow, this is another game that have penalties written all over it as a decider but Im rooting for united to win this one.

Gonna head down to Manchester Cafe this weekend to watch the match and Im all set to go!!! =D

Negligence

So yesterday, someone reminded me that I have a blog that has not been updated for maybe ages!

See the thing is, Ive been too busy with work one thing and recently busy preparing for the trip that Im going to make to manchester in April. Oh dont rub your eyes...you read it right, IM GOING TO MANCHESTER FOR LIKE FINALLY!!!!! But more into that later as for now, lets talk about what I actually started this blog for....

Ok so alot of things happens while Im away, in regards of united of course.

First of all, we are thru to the final of Carling Cup beating city on the semi final * what a game that was and one I certainly wont forget!*.

Then now the Champions League knock out stage has already started with us playing Milan last week winning 3-2 at San Siro and am looking forward for the second leg at Old Trafford.

Apart from that, the lost against Everton is still very painful especially with that scoreline and the win against west ham heal the pain a little.

Oh I also need to mention that the one thing that have been happening alot and have been the hot debate among united fans are the protest against the glazers. I certainly have a lot to talk about it but I leave it to later cause rite now Im trying to keep everything as simple. Need to rush things up a bit as I have many things pending my attention.

This is it! So much for a comeback I guess with this much of summary lol.. I have to promise myself now to not neglect you anymore my blog..I promise I try but weather I succeed or not, that I cant promise lol..

Man Utd 4 VS 0 West Ham Utd. (PL) 5th December 2009
Venue: Upton Park
Scorer: Scholes (45) Gibson (61) Valencia (71) Rooney (72)
Line up: Kuszczak, Fletcher, Neville, Brown, Evra, Valencia, Gibson, Scholes, Anderson, Giggs, Rooney.
Subs: Carrick (sub Neville 34), Berbatov (sub Gibson 77), Owen (sub Rooney 73).
Booking: Scholes (80)

I dont know now if starting this blog is a good idea after all cause frankly, Im starting to get a bit lazy in updating it and trying my best to find time to do it. Initially the plan was for my own purposes, something that I could look back on at the end of the season seeing Im a forgetful person, its best to have a place for me to easily look back at the season but right now Im not sure anymore. Anyway, while Im still at it...here goes what I think of the West Ham match. Bear with me cause it was the first time I tried watching the match at the same time, doing minutes by minutes updates on twitter and be on chatzy all at one go! It was fun thou only because its worth it and United are winning! Oh that said you may follow us on twitter. Come on give me the support & be a follower! ;)

Its not always going to be easy to be playing against West Ham especially at Upton Park. We doesnt always have the best record playing them away so I was a bit careful in expecting a good result. Tbh, never really noticed the thin line up we have at the back so I was kind of taken aback when I get to know Vidic wasnt there to start.

With Rio, Evans, The twin brothers, Oshea all out, the worst thing I thought could happen is Vida joining the casualties list. Hell thats not even the worst thing...in the end, both Neville and Brown joined them too so we currently have almost the whole defensive squad out having only Evra standing.

I laughed so much when Carrick was called in to replace Neville..Yeah that was suppose to be funny really, atleast until the final whistle where it come across to me how serious our situation was to be ending the match with three midfielders at the back. ( Fletcher, Carrick, Evra and Giggs).

Thank God, TK happens to have his best run of form at the moment seriously, something I very much appreciate at this critical period what more, with no VDS around. Atleast I know in TK for now, we have someone who we can put trust in. Imagine if it was a couple of months back where I cant even picked between Foster and TK. That will just add to the worry I already have.

Anyway, judging by this match, not sure if it was us or West Ham that was having problem with the defensive backline. 4 goals to a clean sheet? Who would have thought? If this is problem to us, I wonder what the hammers will be calling theirs as from what I saw, they also have problem in taking their chances so certainly that is a bigger problem than what we are currently facing? Atleast as far a problem we are having, we managed to score 4 goals so all are not that bad......for now atleast.

Lets skip the first half as I dont think there's much to talk about apart from Scholesy goal. As usual this season, I dont think we have the best performance in the first half. We slacken off a bit at the start until entering the 2nd half when who else but the ginger prince to typically score that famous goal of his. What a cracking goal for sure atleast until what comes next.

After the second half, then only we stepped on the pedal. Gibson, I dont think he has his best game but credit to him for that brilliant goal thou. I didnt expect him to score rite then tbh and I admit that goal has taken me by shocked. I remember I cant type for a moment after that goal and speechless, I was totally in awe and it was kind of funny really. He certainly learned from Scholesy on that aspect and lets hope he learned the same in other areas of his game too. When we have someone who is as good as him in scoring that type of goals, you cant help but to hope that he'll learn fast and that he doesnt end up being wasted. It will be such a shame.

Valencia I have to mentioned looks good too and happy for him for his goal but the bigger compliment I have to reserve it for my man Giggsy. Dont you just want to cry to think how close he is to retirement with the form he is having right now? Every season now Ive been living with fear for that particular day to come and not only for him but for Scholesy as well what more with what was being mentioned in the press about Scholes quitting at the end of the season. These are the game that make you think what you do without them both. Its obvious, the two of them is what this match is all about. I bet you missing Ronaldo is nothing compared to missing the both of them...argggg...if only they could play forever..

On the other hand, Rooney, dont care if he is no Messi..I still like him for who he is and what he can give. Never ending being a threat to West Ham and how he deserved that goal too. I am always extra happy whenever he score a goal assisted by Valencia..I was hoping he gets on well with him and built an understanding between them and so far, things are starting to look good.

Overall, not like a win itself is not already nice but a win with that scoreline is just so perfect looking at the problem we have. We cant afford to be dropping points no matter under whatever circumstances so I very much welcomed these kind of win if it could boost the morale of the players. And I thought I just have to give credits to Carrick for his first time playing at CB and didnt really do that badly. Infact it didnt look like it was his first time and of course for sure wont be his last time either looking at how it is currently. As funny as it is, it took him great effort to be there and once again, really appreciate that. Now for Wolfsburg...I dread to think who should start really and it would be interesting to see how sir alex work this one out. Here sending off our lads to Germany...Good lucks guys, be with you at heart lol...

Did I mention yet that Liverpool drew with Blackburn and that Chelsea lost to City?? *giggles* Apart from City winning and Tevez scoring their winning goal, it has been a great weekend, what more us being 2 points away from the top eh?? Im sure we'll be there soon...Its only december remember?? ;)

France VS Ireland Madness.

Ok going sidetrack a bit this time round as I just have to comment on it. Whats this madness about Ireland wanting an additional place in the World Cup? Ok fair enough, they was robbed of a chance to be at the World Cup going pretty close still what give them the right to be asking for an exception? No offend to any Irish that might be reading this blog if there's any but as desperate as they may be, they should really learn to live with it.

I have to admit, at that particular time, I felt sorry for Ireland and infact I lose all respect I have for Henry all these while in just a moment but looking at it again and after hearing Henry comment on it, I actually believe him that it is something he didnt intend to do or can control doing looking at the the condition of the match at that time where tenses are running high. Still no excuse for him to celebrate as if as he didnt know he hand balled it thou so with that explanation or excuses still make him a cunt.

As for Ireland, how thick can they be?? I understand the bitterness of losing on such event but hell wasnt that what football is all about? Im baffled at how they didnt yet noticed that in football decisions dont always go the way you want it to be and that they are not the only victim that had suffered these wrong decision which affected the result. Chelsea- Barca in the CL last season was another example and even United has suffered from it a lot of times too and yet no one get any exceptions from Fifa so why should they really?

Frankly, I cant see Fifa allowing this. Roy Keane is right in a way when he said, Ireland didnt take their chances enough so why should they go to the World Cup?? Lets look at it this way, even if minus France goal, they still need a penalty shoot out to know if they could proceed or not to the world cup and it is not a known fact that they would so if they have their way and get that additional place in the world cup, wasnt that indirectly as good as cheating their way as well? Unless if without that goal Ireland already won the match then thats a different thing.

Fifa need to make a decision now and going by it I dont think they will allow such exception to happen. By allowing them an additional place in the world cup will mean they have the easiest route to what is a very huge tournament and where is the fairness in that?

If they allow this, they should be willing to accept more of this in the future which I think will change the face of football for the worst. Instead of implementing videos technologies to stop this cheating from happening again which I personally think will have higher chances of similar incident being prevented, they choose to make amends which definitely does not prevent cheating from happening in any way. Only if they are prepared with the consequences and ready to consistently stick with their decision for such cases in the future, then I dont see them allowing this. As sad as it is for Ireland and as sorry as I am for them..it is something they need to deal and get over with.

Keep your mouth shut pls....
Thank You very MUCH!!

You know, when I used to hear other players coming out with comment about not playing enough and not getting enough chances and comments made against the manager, I remember feeling very glad and thankful that our players does not react the same apart from one or two which is not as often. It is also one of the reason to why I love this club so much because somehow, our players were made to understand their position and whatever situation we are in. Obviously, only god knows how they really feel just as long its between them and the manager and its not one for the public to know, then I have no case to argue.

That has not been the case lately thou. One by one our players were quoted to come out with unpleasant dissatisfaction for not getting enough opportunity. First it was Nani then lately Foster.

Now, obviously, given the players position, they might have the right to complaint cause logically, players wanted to play all the time but one question is, have they really done enough to even moan about it?

First of all, I think they should really look at who they are playing for which happens to be Manchester United of course and how big this club is. Big in my definition is the number of staff including the squad we have at this moment.

Secondly, its best if they look around at their team mates. See the quality they have and compare it to what others can offer that they cant. Ask themselves whether they have given as much as the rest?

I think players now is starting to take things for granted. Infact, normal human beings always tend to do so in our normal daily life. Its normal really to get so hype up and excited over something new but as we go along doing the same thing everyday, we will tend to treat is as nothing new. If only they knew that getting spotted by Man utd scouts & being offered a contract isnt actually as difficult as getting the opportunity to wear that shirt and actually play for Manchester United. Its how you actually work your way to keep your place that matter most.

Nani, he started well when he first came. Full of excitement and promises which come hand in hand with the talent he have. Just like any other new players that have joined us, I have high hope for him and at that time he look like a player that could rise quickly or at the least, in his second year or third. But strangely, entering his third year now, he is still struggling. This too without Ronaldo around. One could easily say that he doesnt have enough time or opportunity to improve but frankly, as fact as it is, Im getting abit sick and tired of that excuses.

How long does he need? How often opportunities does he want?? Come on now...with the players he is competing with, lets face it, if you are no Ronaldo or Rooney...I reckon forget about wanting to be the core player. How can anyone expect more when they didnt give as much. Take Fletcher for instance. How long does he have to wait to finally be the player he is now. What Fletcher is for us today is what every other player should look at. Patience is what brought him to this level and of course the dedication to improve with every opportunity he gets. He can now proudly stand tall and say he earned his form today and as a fan, I have no reason to complaint.

Same goes with Foster. What was he thinking?? Ok, everyone have the right to dream and have the right to have a goal but how can you moan about not reaching that goal when you dont have what it takes? Its like me applying to be a lawyer with just an O level in my hand ffs.

Both Foster and Nani are talented players true but whether its enough for them to be a man utd player is the question that they need to ask themselves. They are now under the guidance of the best manager around and a manager who has met or work with hundreds of great players along his years of being a manager and yet we have this two questioning his decision for not giving them enough? Frankly, I still hope that they would improve and that I have not yet give up hope on them but if they dont understand the rotating concept and winning as a team like Fletcher or Oshea does, then I dont mind one bit if they wanted to leave. Why stay if you already think you have given your best shot and still not getting picked? If this is your best shot, then sorry, its not what Manchester United are looking for. Perhaps, they can find true happiness elsewhere like the many players we have that didnt really make it.
